Design Intent
NAK Design Strategies was retained by the local business improvement association to create a Streetscape Master Plan for this unique and historic up-and-coming northwest Toronto neighbourhood. Development of the plan included facilitation of key stakeholder meetings, public engagement sessions, and a Public Open House providing information to the community at large. With this input, NAK developed a preliminary streetscape strategy including new pedestrian crosswalks, bulb-outs, and recommendations on street lighting and landscaping. Integral to the strategy was consideration of how material choices and construction may impact businesses during infrastructure upgrades.
