Design Intent
Cityscape, a 200 hectare community located in North East Calgary, was designed to integrate transit connectivity, mixed uses, compact built form, and a variety of housing types and densities. Through various stages of design development, NAK placed a priority on preserving the prominent natural heritage of the site. The community is articulated around a sizeable wetland that serves as a valuable ecological and recreational amenity. Coupled with meaningful and sustainable design practices, its intrinsic ecological, functional, and aesthetic value is further enhanced through its role as the community centre.
NAK’s role has progressed from visioning, land use planning, and urban design, to detailed landscape design and tendering.
